in the open position. In neither of the testfalls, did the ID slide on the rope at all.

I forbindelse med PRAT®-TVG-møde, den 10. november, 2011, testede vi forskelligt rope
access udstyr, bl.a. Petzl ID.
Ved testen blev en ID udsat for fald med håndtaget fastholdt i
åben position.
Petzl I'DS i åben stilling (håndtag parallelt med reb (lodret)),
udsættes for:
- 80 kg. falder 1,5 meter i 1,5 meter reb *.
- 80 kg. falder 3 meter i 1,5 meter reb *.
Se testen af en åben ID, udsat for fald, både med faldfaktor 1 og
med faldfaktor 2.
Måske lidt overraskende viste det sig, at en ID låser, også selv
en den ikke er låst.
I nogle rope access standarder, er det påkrævet, at ID'en er låst,
hvis/når der ikke er en hånd på bremserebet.
Denne test rejser imidlertid tvivl om gyldigheden af dette krav.

In connection with the PRAT®-TMA (Training, Maintenance and Approval)-meeting on the 10th
of november, 2011, we tested some rope access equipment, eg.
Petzl ID.
Petzl I’D S in the open position (handle parallel to rope (vertical)),
subjected to:
- 80 kg. falling 1,5 meters in 1,5 meters of rope*.
- 80 kg. falling 3 meters in 1,5 meters of rope*.
Watch the test of an open ID, subjected to falls, both with a fallfactor
1 and with a fallfactor 2.
Maybe a bit surprising, it showed, that an ID works (blocks the
rope) even if it is not locked off.
In some rope access standards, it is required, that the ID is
locked, if there is no hand on the belay-rope.
However. This test raises doubt to the validity of this requirement.
